AFRO-PERUVIAN
Afro-Peruvians are Peruvians of afro-descent. The first Africans were brought in 1548 and slavery was abolished in 1854. Afro-Peruvians make up 10% of the population with 2,900,000 Afro-Peruvians. They can be found in Lambayeque, Piura, Lima, Callao, provinces of Canete, Chincha, Pisco, Nazca. The African influences are: FOOD- anticucho, picarones, carapulcra con sopa seca, tacu tacu; MUSIC AND DANCE- criollo music, Peruvian marinera dance.
